Peter Martins and Suzanne Farrell together were one of the legendary pairings in the history of classical ballet. Confident and bold, beautiful and intelligent, some contend that their performances of Balanchine's Apollo are the finest. This photo is from that performance, first choreographed for Diaghilev's Ballets Russes in 1928 as Apollon Musagète.
